Frequently Asked Questions

QCAN YOU REMOVE MY BEES?

A. This is usually the first question asked when answering the phone to a potential client. Not all bees can be moved, and there are occasions where certain types of bee will benefit from being left alone to get on with the day to day things that bees do. The first thing you need to do is identify your bees please feel free to contact us on enquiries@westart-apiaries.co.uk. or call 07907729136.

Q. How Will You Remove Our Bees?

A. It's not a straight forward answer, and until a survey of the situation is carried out, then it is difficult to confirm exactly how they will be removed. A survey of the property enables us to pin point the colony through thermal imaging, and enables us to provide a more accurate quote for the works required. Please feel free to contact on enquiries@westart-apiaries.co.uk or call 07907729136.

Q. HOW MUCH WILL MY BEE REMOVAL COST?

A. Without a survey or pictures of a situation it is difficult to give a cost due to the many variables we come up against in the removal process. for instance those colonies that require removing from height will inevitably may incur costs for access equipment, and it maybe necessary to remove some building materials to expose the colony for removal. For further information please contact us on enquiries@westart-apiaries.co.uk or call on 07907729136.

Q. DO YOU COLLECT SWARMS?

A. We do indeed collect swarms that are out in the open, and we do this for free within the city of Stoke on Trent. We provide this as members of the British Beekeepers Association. If you have a swarm outside of this area, and out in the open, try using this link here by putting your postcode into the search bar. this will find you your nearest friendly beekeeper. Please remember that they are volunteers, and are unlikely to be able to assist in colonies that have moved into a building.
